Project:  Wellness Center

Dates of Execution: October, 2005 – August, 2006

Client:  York General Hospital

Project Summary: 9,770 S.F. of unfinished interior space was made into an aerobic center, a 4,400 S.F. wellness gym, several offices and a number of tanning and message rooms. Also included, are bathrooms, locker rooms, and saunas. With the help of an experienced interior designer, Ann Newcomer, the finished product looks professional.

Self Analysis: Most of my time was spent detailing the front reception area and media center (television console). The round rotunda with its curved benches, light cove, and domed ceiling is the most interesting space. The ceiling details also demanded special attention due to the existing mechanical work and plumbing at varying heights.

Results/Personal Information: This project was not the first addition or remodel executed for York Hospital. After having completed a Dialysis Center and Clinic, a good relationship with our client was already established. Although I had no prior experience with the General Contractor, JLC Incorporated, our working relations throughout the project were great. They worked around the hospital’s schedule so as not to interrupt their daily business.
