Project: Twin Creek
Cinema is 16 theatres with sate of the art sound, seating, and screens. Eight million dollars went into this theatre
to make it competitive among other movie houses within the Omaha area. Dates of
Execution: March 2, 1999 – August
8, 2000 Client: Douglas
Theatre Company - David Livingston Project Summary: After having just completed a six-theatre movie house, we thought this would be relatively easy. Certain phases
such as schematic design, design development and contract documents, were completed efficiently as we were able to use many
of the same details and materials from the previous project. However, certain phases went slower than expected due to
the distant field visits and the working relationship with the general contractor. Self
Analysis: Eventually clear communication and expectations between the architect
and general contractor were established. This promoted information sharing between the owner, consultants and contractor.
The high level of detail demanded by the contractor was matched by his performance speed. Results/Personal Information: I enjoyed detailing the two ticket
booths, and information booth, and contributing to the lobby’s interior and exterior facade design - specifically the
seventeen foot diameter cloud suspended over the lobby. I managed the number of units and arrangement of equipment
within the concessions area.
